Synergy of Structure and  Function

A precise holistic medical approach that blends movement diagnostics, hands-on therapy, and regulatory interventions to restore mobility, structural integrity, and long-term pain relief.

How should you prepare for your therapy session?

sportswear during a therapy session for optimal movement
Please wear sportswear for your therapy session

  • Please wear comfortable sportswear (T-shirt, tank-top, shorts) to ensure unrestricted movement during the assessment and therapy.

  • Since the therapy session is tailored specifically to your needs and focused on precise treatment, it begins with a detailed assessment.

Be Ready for Functional Tests

  • We analyze your functional movement patterns through activities of daily living (ADLs) to accurately identify any pain, restrictions or dysfunctions.

  • This thorough diagnostic approach allows for a highly targeted and effective treatment.

  • Please be prepared for functional and load-bearing assessments as part of your session. These tests are designed to evaluate movement patterns and structural balance. The session will be fully adapted to your individual abilities—whether you are an athlete or have a more sedentary lifestyle.

  • Identifying movement restrictions or pain that affect your daily life is crucial. The more accurately we can replicate these limitations, the more precisely and effectively your therapy can be tailored to address them.

  • Please avoid using body lotion, as some areas may require friction on the fascia for effective therapy.

Treatment Process

What to expect in this session?

Medical History

At the beginning of your consultation, we take a detailed medical history of your symptoms, their progression, and any past or present health concerns. Your medical records provide essential insights, ensuring a personalized and effective approach to your care.

Physical Examination

Body Language Evaluation

  • Your body engages in subconscious communication, revealing important insights about your condition. Subtle movements, protective postures, and pain gestures indicate underlying dysfunctions.

  • By decoding these signals, we gain a deeper understanding of your condition, allowing for precise and effective treatment to restore mobility, relieve pain, and improve overall function.

Individual Functional Tests to Track Progress

  • Tailored or standardized movement and load tests evaluate strength, stability, and mobility. These tests are repeated after each treatment step to objectively track progress.

  • Improvements, such as increased range of motion (ROM), reduced pain, and enhanced strength (without pain inhibition), may guide further treatment adjustments.

  • Very often patients are able to experience immediate benefits in mobility, pain relief, and functional strength.(without pain inhibition)

Palpation (Hands-on Examination)

Guided by orthopedic, neurological, and sports therapy principles, this hands-on examination identifies:

  • Tissue adhesions affecting movement efficiency

  • Movement restrictions limiting segmental mobility

  • Muscle tightness and imbalances impacting coordination

  • Trigger points altering neuromuscular activation

  • Fascial mobility deficits restricting dynamic movement, often before joint mechanoreceptors (Ruffini endings, Pacinian corpuscles, and Golgi tendon organs) respond to positional changes.

By evaluating movement efficiency and tissue health, we gain precise insights for targeted therapeutic treatment.

Therapeutic Process

Personalized Fascia Therapy

The treatment is hands-on, individualized, and dynamically adapts to your healing progress.

Even for similar conditions (e.g., shoulder-arm syndrome), the approach may vary depending on individual needs.

An integrative manual therapy concept is utilized, combining various techniques to support a holistic treatment process.

Manual Therapy Techniques

  • Hands-on therapy forms the foundation, using targeted manual techniques to correct distortions.Additional tools, such as suction cups, may be used to enhance tissue mobility.

  • Various massage techniques are tailored to specific fascial changes.

  • Some techniques may cause discomfort, but they are completely safe. Many patients report a relieving sensation, often described as "feel-good pain," as the treatment directly addresses the root cause.

Continuous Assessment

After each intervention, an immediate reassessment follows. You will notice improvements in mobility, pain relief, and function.

This ongoing feedback ensures an adaptive, patient-centered treatment approach.

  • Primary Focus. Achieve rapid and lasting pain relief.

  • Restore full function.

  • Facilitate a swift return to daily activities or sports.

Possible Side Effects

This therapy approach is highly safe, with no documented lasting side effects worldwide.

Local Reactions

Mild muscle soreness or minor bruising may temporarily occur but typically resolves quickly.

To support the body's response and minimize discomfort:

  • Stay active and avoid prolonged static positions ("Sitting is the new smoking").

  • Apply local cold therapy.

  • Consider swimming for gentle movement.

  • Avoid external heat applications, as they may worsen the condition.

Systemic Reactions

  • Temporary fatigue, which typically subsides within a day.

  • Some patients may experience an emotional release during treatment, a reaction commonly observed in various bodywork therapies.

  • This systemic response can occur as fascial restrictions are released and the body integrates structural and functional changes.

  • While this phenomenon has been described in approaches like Rolfing®, it is not exclusive to any single method and can also be observed in our therapy approach

Expected Outcomes

First signs of improvement
  • Mobility and range of motion (ROM) may improve significantly early in the process, often alongside substantial initial pain relief.

  • With this therapeutic approach, patients are considered the experts of their own condition, as they live with it 24/7 and can often experience immediate, noticeable changes within the first session

  • These treatment outcomes may often be immediately tangible and measurable for both patients and practitioners. In many cases, movements may begin to feel smoother and more natural, and pain may noticeably decrease.

  • From the perspective of this therapeutic approach, connective tissue dysfunctions are specifically addressed to target functional impairments—such as restricted mobility, compromised stability, or inefficient movement patterns—at their root.

  • As a result, extended rest periods may often be unnecessary, unless medically advised, allowing for a gradual return to activity.

  • 'Pain follows function.' As movement patterns improve, discomfort may lessen—sometimes significantly. The focus remains on 'gain, not pain,' with the aim of supporting mobility, stability, and efficient movement for both short-term and long-term benefits.
